Patty Castle  

Role: Banyan Tree co-founder
Interests: Patty has been playing music around Victoria for almost 3 decades with the celtic rock band Stonewhistle and then the High Tide Trio. She plays the pennywhistle, guitar and she has recently acquired a stand-up bass.

Patty represents the Victoria Folk Music Society where she books the features for their weekly concerts at Norway House.

Patty’s vision is to build community through culture. Her ultimate goal is to ensure a thriving tradition of Canadian West Coast Folk music that will endure into the future .

Ray France  

Role: The Banyan Tree Artistic Director & Banyan Tree Co-founder
            Liason with Oak Bay United Chruch

Interests: Victoria Bluegrass Association founder and 1st President. With five other VBA board members established The Sooke River Bluegrass Festival [in partnership with the Sooke Community Association]. After the Bluegrass Association and Festival where established a move to developing Victoria's Mountain Jubilee Show began. see www.mountainjubilee.com
Starting in 1999 the VBA, SRBF & MJS have brought an underground Bluegrass, Old-Time, Acoustic Roots music scene to the forefront... which continues to expand in Victoria and the Islands today.
